Stroy made history by opening The Function, San Francisco’s first Black-owned comedy club. When he's not on tour, you can catch him performing there most nights.

Stroy Moyd may be one of the only up-and-coming comedians to land a recurring role playing himself on an Emmy Award Winning television series. “I literally auditioned to play myself! Like, if I didn’t get the part... was STARZ! going to hire someone else to play me?” he joked. “Welp, I guess we’ll never know.” Shortly after making back-to-back national appearances on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and NBC’s “Nightly News with Lester Holt,” Stroy made his acting debut playing himself on the hit television series “Blindspotting on STARZ! Network. The show built a loyal following and pulled in millions of viewers each episode. “When I headline comedy clubs, hundreds of ‘Blindspotting’ fans come out to see me every weekend!!” he says—proof that sometimes, just being yourself really is the best role of all.

With two decades of stand-up under his belt—and still not even 40—the Oakland comedian has shared the stage with some of comedy’s most iconic talent. He’s opened regularly for Dave Chappelle, the Wayans Brothers, is a regular guest on Hannibal Buress’ “Handsome Rambler” podcast, and was even invited to join 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan on a big international tour. “I met Tracy while opening for him at Cobb’s Comedy Club in San Francisco,” Stroy recalls. “At the end of the weekend, he invited me to hit the road with him. But just before my first leg of the tour, he was in that terrible car accident that made national headlines. Thankfully, he and his crew recovered and are doing well.”
